Grammy®-winning engineer and mixer Matt Brownlie has worked with Bette Midler, LL Cool J, Destiny’s Child, Frank Ocean, Kesha, and many more. Brownlie has recorded everything from jazz ensembles and chamber orchestras to voiceover actors, audiobooks, and podcasts. In 2013, Matt won a Grammy® in the Best Latin Jazz Album category for his recording and mixing of The Clare Fischer Latin Jazz Big Band, ˇRitmo!, arranged, directed and produced by Dr Fischer's son Brent Fischer. Matt's career began when Recording Connection placed him in an apprenticeship with his mentor Brian Levi. He went on to beome an assistant engineer at Clear Lake Audio, and Westlake Recording Studios. After completing his apprenticeship with Brian he went to work with the late, great Clare Fischer. The work that began with him doing edits, midi programming, and overdubs led to Matt working on ˇRitmo! and Music For Strings, Percussion And The Rest (for which the composer, Fischer received a Grammy®).

Matt and Brent Fischer have been collaborating on numerous projects for the past ten years with Matt recording and mixing for The Brent Fischer Orchestra which has appeared on numerous Jazz, R&B and Pop songs and albums: Pictures At An Exhibition, Girl Meets Boy for Sheila E, Colors of Sound for Simon Pilbrow, Alkebulan for Grammy®-nominated singer/songwriter, Matt B, to name a few. Matt records and mixes small to large orchestras ranging from 7 to 70 musicians. This collabrative journey has taken Matt to some of the world's top studios to include: The Village, Sunset Sound, The Zoo (formerly The Bridge), Capitol, NRG, and East West Studios.
