Yuheng Yan Composer | Orchestrator | Score Technical Engineer
Yuheng Yan is a composer, orchestrator, and score technical engineer based in Los Angeles whose work spans film, television, and video games. Known for his emotionally rich writing and collaborative approach, Yuheng has contributed music to a range of high-profile projects, including Warner Bros. Animation’s My Adventures with Superman, Disney’s Monsters at Work, and Netflix’s Lift (featuring the Annie Award-Nominated film composer Dominic Lewis). His work encompasses both original scoring and additional music, supporting narrative storytelling across genres with a focus on lyrical orchestration and textural detail. Yuheng has also recently provided musical contributions for Disney’s TV Series Monsters At Work Season 2.
Born and raised in Chongqing, China, Yuheng began his musical journey at just eight years of age, taking piano lessons from highly-regarded teachers. At fifteen he took on guitar performance and music production and just three years later was accepted to study Film Scoring and Music Performance at the renowned Berklee College of Music.
Yuheng’s writing often blends orchestral scoring with electronic color and modern production, drawing from his early background in rock and heavy metal before formally training in film composition at Berklee College of Music. This fusion of influences informs a distinctive musical voice that bridges cinematic tradition with contemporary energy.
In addition to his composing work, Yuheng has served as a key technical and creative partner for composers on a variety of productions. As a score technical engineer, he has overseen the implementation of complex orchestral templates, managed cue prep and Pro Tools sessions for major scoring stages, and facilitated the seamless delivery of music from demo through final dub. Yuheng’s background as a classically trained composer is complemented by his fluency in contemporary production workflows, allowing him to bridge the artistic and technical demands of modern scoring. He continues to collaborate with composers, directors, and studios on projects that call for emotional storytelling, thoughtful musical architecture, and technical precision.
