American musician and prominent electric bass guitarist Leland "Lee"
Sklar is a staple in the music scene with many hours under his belt
in recording studios and stages around the world. His bass playing
can be heard on over 2,000 albums for music icons to include: Phil
Collins, Rod Stewart, Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor, Hall & Oates,
Jackson Browne, David Bowie, Ray Charles, B.B. King, The Doors,
Aaron Neville, Lyle Lovett. Lee has also played bass for many TV
shows like Hill Street Blues, The Rockford Files, L.A. Law. A Warwick
artist, Sklar has performed on the soundtracks of many motion pictures,
including Forrest Gump, Ghost, and My Best Friend's Wedding, to
name few. He was the bass player for the band Toto in 2007 and 2008,
filling in for Mike Porcaro. Lee continues to be a mainstay in the
L.A. studio scene, showing no signs of slowing down.
If it wasn't for his teacher, Mr. Ted Lynn, Lee would have been
a piano player! "He showed me the fundamentals of the instrument
(bass). I toughed it and never looked back," says Sklar. Thanks
Mr Lynn!
